AI Shoujo: Stranded in a Island with your girl

        Illusion's recently translated title in their lineup of releases overseas has you stranded in an island with your custom made waifu. Illusion has been a hugely known name in the eroge scene. They have been known for Honey Select and a few hardcore titles. After localizing Honey Select through Fakku. Illusion took to Steam and published Koikatsu Party in English. However, this time in the Steam market, there comes a new title available in English and it is called AI Shoujo. How does it do well?

 

THE GAME IN A NUTSHELL:

        The premise of the game is simplistic. You find yourself in an deserted island in ruins with a hand made girl of your choice. The goal here is to discover the island, gather materials, craft items, and have your girl learn how to do things in order to be able to access certain areas of the island. You dig up things with a shovel, mine things with a pick axe, catch bugs with a net, gather things with your hands or gloves, and catch fish with a fishing hook. You also trade items for items as you come across a merchant who is named Shan. However, some gathering areas require you to upgrade your equipment along the way. You also have to take care of the girl you are stuck in that island with. The girl you live with can develop feelings towards you, the player. You are given three areas to make your own custom housing and plenty of things to build on your home bases. Another thing to note, is that you can do various things to girls as they are in middle of a certain something and the girls can do the same to you. There are terminals that allow you edit your appearance and a girl's appearance and also change characters, especially your character you play as.  There is also a terminal where you can add another girl to the island. There are special items in the game that can affect a girl's overall stats and behaviors. The player is given three save slots. After clearing out the campaign, essentially unlocking everything in the island, You can go to a plain flat island where you can customize it to your liking. Almost forgot to mention, you make custom outfits to have girls wear besides their default given outfit. The game will require you to install the free ecstasy patch into your steam download in order to have the game uncensored.

Let's start off with the bad news:

        The game is lacking in terms of optimization. Expect frame rate drops to occur as you explore the island. Also, the game is buggy. For example, you go to a new island on your boat. If you want to get back to the main island of the game, you have to find the boat back which is apparently invisible. Also, there was a level 2 tool that I tried to equip but did not have any luck as my character wouldn't equip it until I upgraded to tool to max level. My character was finally able to equip that tool. Finally, the price is questionable as we are looking at the game costing you $69.99USD. If anyone wished to get the game while it is on sale, that is understandable. 

The Good of the Game:

        The game does have a great things to go for it. The detailed character creation tools are fantastic, I had a blast creating the girl of my desires. Also, the island is beautifully detailed and designed brilliantly. The soundtrack for the game is orchestrated into wonderful and calming tracks. There is plenty of items and structures to craft. The fishing is rather simplistic and engaging. The way your girl and her personality can be structured is handled to point where you are given more freedom to how you want your girl to behave and develop. Also, if you are not working on your home bases, the island itself provides you stuff for you to sleep and sit. The island also provides the girls something to sleep, sit, cook, shower, and get dressed. The island also gives you a bit plenty to explore. Also, as you unlock the ability to customize an island of your own, you are give plenty of space to mask as you imagine. The model design is traditionally made greatly well. The game and it's addicting game play has more to make up for it's issues.

How erotic is it?:

        The game gives you plenty of sex positions to consider. There are also positions that will be available depending on the girl and her stats. Depending on the environment where you have sex with your girl, there will be specific positions to be made available. You have the traditional and most common sex positions. Also, you can craft sex items, especially for BDSM and masturbation. The sex scenes will have you alert of the girl's state and whether or not she is about to cum. There is a possibility where the girl can lose her consciousness due to exhaustion. The sex scene mechanics are detailed and done greatly. You also have the ability to have sex with the merchant, Shan. You are guaranteed to ejaculate.

OVERALL:

        Despite the performance issues and the price, the game continues to go strong. You are looking at a game worth having in your collection. Hopefully, Illusion can update the game to air out the bugs and optimization issues. The game deserves to run better and more smoothly. The game also needs a price cut. However, if you wish to get the game while it is on sale, it is understandable. The game is well done as it continues to stay strong and refrain from disappointing.
